Baseline Safety
Are all your employees equally protected from risk? Can they assume the same baseline level of protection as each other? We spend significant time and resources undertaking risk assessments and putting in place controls to protect our people, yet some are more likely to come to harm than others. In an era where EDI seems to be under attack, it turns out that many social and personal characteristics are also tied to safety outcomes in the workplace. A picture is slowly emerging that risks in the workplace do not affect us all equally and that the baseline of safety that we can assume is not quite the same for everyone.
