Blackpool Council Launches Connected Safety Net
Blackpool Council has successfully launched a fully digital, automated safety and operations platform in partnership with Connected Safety Net. This milestone marks a bold step forward in modernising transport and highway services across the town, beginning with the iconic tram network.
The new platform replaces outdated manual and paper-based systems with a streamlined, intelligent digital solution designed to enhance operational efficiency and improve the passenger experience. It reinforces Blackpool Council’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and delivering services that reflect the needs of a modern, connected town.
“This partnership represents much more than just technology. It’s about future-proofing how we operate, serve the public and take climate responsibility seriously. With Connected Safety Net, we’ve eliminated paper, introduced automation and created a platform that reflects Blackpool’s ambition to lead the way," said Ian Large FIHE FCIHT CMgr FCMI FIoL MPWI, Head of Highway and Traffic Management Services, Blackpool Council.
