Edward Debrah
Edward is a Chartered Environmentalist and Sustainability Professional (CEnv), Chartered Resource and Waste Manager (CRWM), and accomplished HSEQ Executive with over 13+ years of diverse industry experience across Oil and Gas, Energy, Construction, Healthcare, Education and Waste Management.
He is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the 2024 UK Environment 100, 2023 Afrisafe Industry Impact Award, and 2022 IIRSM Presidents’ Commendation Award—becoming the first African and Ghanaian recipient.
Highly regarded for his ability to enhance safety standards, Edward delivers customized training programs accredited by Nebosh, IEMA, IOSH, and PECB. He specializes in developing, inspecting, auditing, and managing robust management systems aligned with ISO standards, promoting positive safety culture, championing regulatory compliance and driving operational efficiency.
Edward has delivered presentations and keynotes at conferences in Ghana, Nigeria, the UK, Canada, and the Middle East, sharing his insights on health, safety, sustainability, environmental and waste management.
He is a regular contributor and columnist for Ghana’s highly sought-after Business and Financial Times newspaper, IEMA’s Transform Magazine where he shares thought leadership and expertise on industry trends and best practices.
Beyond his professional engagements, Edward has made significant contributions as a University Lecturer, Independent Consultant, and Mentor.
He is the Founder & Convenor of the Safety Profit Foundation, where he advocates for safer and healthier workplaces.
Edward’s academic achievements include dual master’s degrees: an MBA in Oil and Gas from Coventry University and an LL.M in Business Law and Sustainable Development from the University of Aberdeen.
He is an active and committed member of professional organizations such as IEMA, CIWM, IIRSM, and IOSH. He is passionate about driving impactful change and shaping a safer, more sustainable future.
